Again we planted in tractor prepared beds at Plotgate using the push seeder.
This year they were 30 meter rows. We planted 3 rows each of black and white quinoa, 1 rows each of purple queen beans and soy beans and 10 rows of borlotto beans.
The soy beans and black quinoa failed to show. The rest grew away well.
There was a lot of fat hen growing up among the crops, with some very dense patches which took a couple of sessions hoeing and pulling to get under control.

Crops were harvested in early October and again laid out on sheets to dry. The bicycle thresher didnt work as well as the beans were not as dry. The beans that didnt thresh were later podded by hand. Future bean crops will be better dried before threshing.
